The fall itself wasn't that terrible. The binding didn't release upon landing is the terrible bit.

Good that it seems to be a beginner slope and he wasn't traveling that fast. If he didn't try hard to recover from the init lost of balance, it wouldn't look so bad. Good remind to us that accident could happen anywhere, not matter how experienced you are.

That is a classic example of what the tail part of the ski can do.
Racers use that to accelerate out of gates.
For those "newbie" who thinks sitting back can slow down; think again....

That is a very good way to lose your ACL.....
The skier was VERY LUCKY......

Terrible! :eek: I guess the force is from ski rebound to throw him far way. yes, not only himself but if anyone happen to be in his trajectory. Its very lucky that no one get hurt.
