I will definately use a helmat. I personally think it is very important as it gives maximum protection to your head. :)
你覺得有需要戴頭盔嗎?
Personal choice, but definitely NOT on my dead body.:)

It is IMPORTANT to find one that suits your head shape and size, not too tight and not too loose. Do not just go for the fashion or style.

Yes, everyone should wear a helmat and safety is no.1, in 2010 RED has one model with a pump, like a Nike shoes with a pump and a release valve, you put it on then pump up the lining and will fit your head perfectly, plus air cusions. Don't know when it will be available on the market, want to try one!!
Here is a good article from TIME: "Could a Helmet Have Saved Natasha Richardson?"

Good read, skier. So true that you never know whether the helmet helps until the hit actually lands.
Two incidents happened in our group lately:
1) At SilverStar, riding on the T-bar. The lift staff supported to pull the T-bar down for you. Unfortunately, the staff couldn't hold the T-bar firmly and the T-bar shot directly towards the heads of my 2 friends. One had the T-bar hit and scretch his helmet. The one had the t-bar hit his neck under his helmet briefly, and then had the 2nd hit on top of his helmet. Even with the helmet, they both felt the impact and luckly no major head injuries. I said helmet did help my friends here.
2) At Grouse, our big group splited up and went for diff runs. Once we met up again, my buddy was asking me whether I remember he crashed or what. I was so puzzled and try to figured what happened. He temperary lost his memory and can't remember what just happened to him. He couldn't even remember why he was there. Actually no one saw what happened to him, but guessing that he had a head impact somehow. Whether his helmet helped him, no one know. Eventually he recovered his memory bit by bit, but we were all worried so much that night.

When we teach we are encouraged to wear helmet (especially with kids) to set good example
But personally I wouldn't wear helmet unless I am dropping cliffs or riding in terrain park
Might be one day, people will think they will need full protection and dress like him:

I remember that wearing this "beautiful uniform" is because the man has a serious injury. Does that mean we can still ski no matter how serious injury we have?:):D

Yes, I know you are doing the preparation. So, your single foot skiing is so strong.:):D:p

If that is good enough to protect a complete wreck, it must be good enough to protect a good body. :D

I will definitely get to wear my helmet. Last time I fell backward down on an icy slope and I could hear clearly the "BOOM" sound while my helmet crashed the ground! If I did not get the helmet I am dead for sure! Even with the helmet I felt killing pain so you guys can imagine without this protection what will happen.
Still I agree that with the helmet I look dude!

Great! Is it possible to wear this uniform to get on the plane? If not, our luggage must be over weight. :D:D:D

eLeung - thanks for the kind words. Hope that single leg skiing remainds a balancing drill. I m sure you can do better then me in no times.
I always use helmet when doing dry skiing. Like AngelBlue I also felt backward without any control but on concrete. In fact I believe I should use helmet at all times just havn't set the heart to do so.
what's the draw back doing so? :)

You see I am also doing the same preparation :D:p

Me too. Helmet is a MUST when I am riding on my inline skates. I think the drawback may be a bit hot especially in the summer.

In my opinion, how others do doesn't matter, what is important is how you see it.
Helmet is like life insurance, airbag in your car, fire extinguisher at home. They are for safety protection. They are not 100% protective; that's why some consider them but some don't. Having protection is always better than no protection, I think nobody would agrue with it. If you like to have protection and you can afford it, then certainly go for it. We neither need to think about the others nor convince them (your family is another story).
For myself, I always wear helmet when doing inline skating even under 32c in summer. I see other people don't do so but it doesn't bother me. If something bad happened to them, they are the one who suffer - not me.
For skiing, I do not wear helmet at this moment but that's because I couldnt' find one comfortable to put on for a full day (something wrong with my headshape...). I keep looking one and if I found it, I will wear it. Meanwhile, I understand the risk of impact; I do ski cautiously which should be the case anyway even when you have helmet on.
