Club Med 5D/4N Sahoro, Hokkaido Ski package
early Dec departure, ard HK$15K per person
all inclusive (daily ski pass, ski/snowboard tuition, meals, tickets and accommodation)

Is this much more expensive than arranging ski package by yourself?

It should be low season at early dec so flight ticket and accomodation and ski pass are all not expensive. Money wise I would say u could get a better bet in Niseko. If u also look for instruction u know its included in clubmed. If u r not its worthless. So its not hard to do the arithmetic knowing what urself r looking for. :)

My collegue joined this package before.

Overall, his comment is good....

1. Instructors w/ different levels
2. Red/white w/ unlimited supply http://www.hkssa.net/images/icons/icon10.gif
3. During dinner time, there will be some activities/function, good atmosphere..

But going there at early Dec....

in fact, i'd like to know roughly how much it usually costs for a 5D/4N ski trip... cos I nd to start saving $$$ for it now..
Since Club Med package seems to hv included everything needed, I don't need to worry about extra expenses... but honestly, it's a bit pricey to me..

I haven't joined any club med package but I am considering joining. If your top priority is money, I believe you can get a cheaper deal everywhere easily. For me, the most attractive part is the ski instructions, then the unlimited wine........yes, I can drink to death at night but still skiing Aiguille du midi the next morning........But I will definitely not join the Sahorro package. (1) If I want to ski in Japan, Ryann's tour may be a better deal. (2) Club med's alps package is a much more attractive deal.

wow... if I drink to death at night, i'll definitely sleep through the whole morning..

unfortunately ryann's tours don't fit my schedule... :(

unfortunately ryann's tours don't fit my schedule... :(same case here. so have u work out a likely total price? here is just some of my idea:

flight = variable depending on when you buy the ticket and the actual flight.
hotel = 800/night up depending on which hotel
food = depends again
pass = 300/skiing day?
hotel transfer = 300?

just curious, any know if club med got japanese BIG CRAB in the dinner?

Club Med in Sahoro is good -- I have been there. Everything is inclusive including 3 meals. But early Dec. is risky anywhere in Japan (lack of snow) and even for Hokkaido.

But the Sahoro mountain is a bit small.

If you want to take ski/snowboard lessons, Sahoro is a good choice with different level lesson you can choose. Food is all you can eat, so you can eat as much as you like. As someone mentioned, all you can drink red and white wine.
