OK, this ain't no funny anymore. I can't find a decent shop for snowboard goggle, board, binder and boots. I prefer a general sport store to shop such as sportchek and sportmart in Canada. I don't want fancy and high priced stuff. I can live with a plain board wihout graphic on. No burton or solomon overrated big brands whatnot. I need something with decent quality and low price. Recommendation please. thanks in advance.

hong kong and china
If you want to buy ski clothing, there are many shops that sell ski pants, ski jackets.
If you are looking for goggles, quite a lot of shops selling outdoor / climbing equipment have goggles as well.
As for ski, there is only one shop ( http://www1.funnsnow.com/showroom/model/T0011/templateIndex.do?webId=1193876899720&editCurrentLanguage=1193876899736 ). But not the requirements you described and definitely no low price.
For snowboard, I have no idea.

One thing you have to remember that Hong Kong has no snow, and only small population doing ski/snowboard compare with other sport activities, e.g. football, badminton. How can the Sportchek and Sportmart can survive here? I was living in Canada before and I found the snowboard and ski equipment there is not decent too, only thing may be is cheaper than in W4th Ave. in Vancouver. Recently, I found the hiking equipment/outdoor wear stores in Hong Kong are carrying more ski/SB stuff, which is good in some way. If you will fly out to ski, then buy there.

銅鑼灣 islandwake 做緊特價 , 如果你已報名參加今年東日旅行團去日本滑雪 , 憑報名單仲有折添 .

Just like some of the members said above, there is nothing like sportchek here in Hong Kong, and the ski/snowboard population is extremely low... unlike japan where going to snowboarding/skiing is a tready thing to do in the winter, easy access and so forth.
You can try CWB island wake, Snowboard Freak in MongKok or Xgame in Central.
It might be hard to find something cheap local...no graphics and stuff like those 250 US dollars package (boot, binding, board) deal in US.
I suggest you check online...

nono, cheap and quality don't come together, i understand this well. And I do not trust that $250 package as well. But I do want an average snowboard package for average boarder like me, not hyper not beginner. Iguess i'll either go buy locally at resort, or invest a package when i go back to canada. I should have done that.
Love sportchek, I can spend a whole quality day there.:)

It's weird. Most of our skiers/snowboarders in Vancouver must have at least 1 set of ski/SB equipment. Just curious if you are from Canada, why you are asking to buy ski/SB equipment in HK?

Hi,
Yes i used to live in bby near metrotown. But i can't go back now. So i'm thinking instead of flying all the way back i'll just get them here in Hongkong or China. I know i should have brought a set with me but i thought it was a short stay at that time. sigh.
I used to board in blue mountain, how about you?
cheers

I was living in South Vancouver, close to SE Marine Dr. I used to go Grouse Mountain and Whistler to ski and SB.

There is a small shop in the indoor ski slope of Windows of the World in Shenzhen selling ski/snowboard equipment, you can go to have a look (you have to pay entrance fee to Windows of the World).

You're right, you won't find "Sportchek/SportsMart prices" here in HK. The stores here like island wake, x-games usually charge a premium for premium gear.
But as others have asked, if you plan to ride in Canada, why bother buying here? Even if you were to find a Sportchek type board package for a sportchek type price, do you really want to lug it back home? ah Blue Mountain, my old home hill (that and Dagmar ;p)
Unless you buy quality, you might as well just rent. (Sportchek = rental quality)
But if you insist to buy, then buy online and ship it home.
My LibTech banana board I bought last year, I bought here:
http://sourceboards.com/
Had it shipped home, and took it to whistler before bringing it back to HK
eBay is always a great resource if you know what you're doing.

This guy has nothing to do that's why he writes "where to buy SB gear in HK?". Of course he knows where to get cheap gear but he wants to show off he knows all those shops in Canada. If I were him, I would play X Box at home la, is much cheaper and don't have to spend money to travel either. Don't think anyone should keep talking about this issue! Better plan yourself where to go next trip for good powder and what gear/nice outfits you bring, it's a life style sport and not playing football at the estate/village.
