It is a lot more serious than many "joyriders" may think.

In this clip, at least 3 lives were put at risk. If something bad happens, people could get injured and could be fatal. Travel insruance will probably not pay out...

Police will probably get involved, prosecution may follow, and the consequences could be severe.

According to the title of the video, it was a FIS Race at Mt. Bachelor, surely the organiser should be held responsible for providing a safe environment for the competition, and stopping other skier/snowboarder stray onto the course was commonsense to me.

I think the message to pass is to have the general public to watch out for gates. It is very likely that there are very FAST skiers speeding down around these gates.
A small rule to observe could save your life or body parts.

When I saw race course setup at Whistler, it is always surrounded by orange/red plastic fence. I believe there are only openings at the top and bottom. If people ignore these fence, this may happens.

Looks like it was a kid (or teenager) in the movie. Good that there was no major happened.
