Haha! :) We have a lot discussions on other DC forums. I was expecting it last yeat while I still used 30D. Wait and wait then I bought 5D this year earlier. After read the new spec of 5D MkII, I am happy my decision is correct - dual body 5D+30D.. :D

There is no surprise on new 5D MkII, still 9 + 6 AF points, 3.9 Fps, disappointing!

Better to save more bullet to go to ultimated goal - 1Ds MkIII! :)

Good to hear you are one of Canon fans. In 2004, I bought my first DSLR (Canon 20D) that is still my good partner. Actually, 2 years ago, I had similar goal to upgrade my 20D to 1Ds series. However, I changed my mind after using 1Ds Mark II for a full day photo taking. To me, 1Ds Mark II or III is too heavy (only the camera body is over 3 lbs). As the acceptable features and weight (only 1.8 lbs), EOS 5D Mark II is now under my consideration.

I think the technology improves really fast. New DSLR camera is having shorter and shorter life cycle, look at 40D, 50D, now 5D mark II....I bet there will be another one soon as A900 is 25 mega, 21 mega appears to be too low. I am waiting for Canon 80D, or something like that, in 2 year time with 50 megapixel. Then I can use my 400D as a backup...

EOS 5D Mark II is now under my consideration. Good choice. For skiers the video feature is a great addition. I seen the demo clip. It looks ordinary hdv is way off in terms of quality. Now you can shot night ski with high clarification with a fast lens.
