Photo Upload Size

Dear Ryann,

I am sure everyone here will have the same experience. But I am probably the first one to complain.:rolleyes2:

What is the exact quota for photo uploads? I was able to upload some photos, but after 7 photos, I could not upload any more. I am sure each of my file is below the 3meg limit, but is there an overall quota for each account? If so, could you consider increase it?

Could you provide more detail?
Where your photo upload to? Photo album or a thread?

When I "Reply" , in the bottom, there is a (http://www.hkssa.net/#) 上傳附件 section. I uploaded photos using that section. According to the instruction, maximum photo size is 3 meg for JPG files. My files are far from 3meg, but I got a failure message each time. :icon_giveup: Examples can be found in the "skiing Chile" thread..

I have similar experience as Jack, any photos to be uploaded have to be reduced to less than 1MB, otherwise timed out.

I cannot do the reduction, I have over 1000 photos all at around 1.2 meg, if I do the reduction, it will take me a month...providing I have the time and patience.:evil::icon_adore:

This fourm is set to 3mb of each image, however the system is limited upload time to 1 min. Meanwhile you have to upload the photo in 1 min per each.
I have changed this setting to 10 mins, it should be sufficient to upload large file size photos.

But I would suggest you to resize your images that want upload to the internet.
It is very easy, a batch size conversion of 1000 images takes about 1 hr.

Your example of "insert pictures" is very useful when the pics are hosted by third party. I have decide to host the photos myself and use the "insert picture" function (second last icon top right).

Jack, there are softwares in the market which will enable to to resize your photos a lot faster (minutes rather than hours) :bill:

Even with resizing of the photo software, I think I'd rather host my own photos. For one, my photos were on my web site already. For two, after resizing, to load to hkssa site is very slow. For three, using my own hosting, I can describe the photos better.:icon_discuss:

Even after you have increased the time out to 10 minutes, I still got timed out if the file size is larger than 1Mb.
