beijing is ok since there is no xmas holiday. It is not as crowded as japan. also quite cheap when rmb is not so high.
I usually go to Wanlong Ski Resort which is 3-4 hours drive from beijing. the slopes are about 2km, takes you 5-10min from top to bottom depending on your speed. of course, you cant compare it to japan in terms of size and snow, but its better than none. or you can go to Nanshan which is just half or one third the size of wanlong.
If you are going there in xmas, you would definitely see me and some hkers. I am a regular visitor during xmas.

what do you mean by 安全設施?
There are safety nets on the side of the trail.

and what do you mean by 雪夠唔夠?
enough to ski including man-made snow and not icy, quite easy to ski, but dont expect it to be powder.

Thank you so much!
Man-made snow......that mean 唔夠雪.
Anyway, I still want to plan my X'mas holiday to Beijing, suggest some more ski court or resort please, usually we spend 4-6 days for ski at the trip, so can try to visit one more court.

someone tried to goto 张家口 from beijing in 3 hrs .. not bad not bad ..I ll do everything to get there in 5 hours, even pay more for the longer driving time. i was told its not impossible to see opposing traffic get in your way. assuming u r traveling at a mere 120. Sir Issac Newton told me in my dream that an opposing traffic traveling at 50 will meet the unlucky one at 170( by the yet infamous Murphy's law). :)

kk, if you have 4-6 days, wanlong is ok enough which you dont need to bother the transportation. I dont think it is a good idea to go to another ski resort. You would be exhausted. and wanlong would be enough for you.
yes, agree to one2free, wanlong is the biggest. dont think others.

Why bother if it is so far away, so unreliable and so risky? Might as well go to Japan.

Driving 6 hours from Sydney to Snowy Mountain is OK. I frequently drove over 12 hours from London to the Alps in the old days, but then the ski rsorts are worth all the effort to get there.

In my opinion, those in China (near Beijing) are not even worth the 4 hours travelling time.
