Whistler Blackcomb has fired up its fleet of snow guns in anticipation of the upcoming ski and snowboard season.

Forty automated guns, of 269 total snow guns at the ski resort turned on as the freezing level started to creep down the mountains on Friday (10th Oct).

The official opening day for Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains is 27th November. :)

The Whistler Blackcomb's Peak 2 Peak Gondola will officially open to the public on 12th December.

love to try the gondola !!!
it was a bit far to "travel" from one end to the other while i was there in 2003 ..

that gondola is amazing...saves a lot of time from going one end to the other!!!

It costs $7 CND to travel on the peak-to-peak gondola. Good for sight seeing and I will definitely try it. However, I don't think I have to travel between two mountains all the time.

We saw the gondola moving back and fro last weekend. Doing the final testing, we guess. Too bad we can't jump onto it yet.

Much better off opening up more skiable terrain by adding new chairs then the P2P IMHO.
