ski resort in niseko

:confused:I will go to niseko in Dec. 2008. Would any one please advise (i) when is the opening date for the 2008/2009 ski season for the ski resorts, (ii) which ski resort is good for begineer/ntermediate skier - Higashiyama or Hirafu. (iii) If I stay in the hotel at Higashiyama, can I ski to Hirafu from Higashiyama. (iv) will it be more convenient for skiing if I stay in the hotel in Hirafu. Any recommendation ?:confused:

1/. Usually in early December, date not released yet.
2/. Hirafu is bigger, personally I think it is better suited for intermediate skiers. Annupuri is OK as well.
3/. If you stay at Hilton Higashiyama, you can ski to Hirafu or Annupuri from the top if the lift to the top is open. Otherwise, you have to take the shuttle bus. It is convenient because it is in the middle of the three and also there is a gondola right at the door step. However, there is nothing else in Higashiyama except the hotel.
4/. If you stay at Hirafu, you will have lot more choices for restaurants for dinner.
