2016 CNY in Swiss or Austria

Due to expecting Euro attractiveness, I am planning to go ski in Europe next season. I have been to Three Vallees a couple of times including 2015 and just wonder if I can try other resort in Swiss and especially Austria. A couple of serious questions pop up:
1. which ski resort and alternatives (intermediate/advance with kid, love newer hotel/chalet)
2. where can be reasonably assessable by direct flight from HK airport and then by train/bus transit within a couple of hours.

It would be nice to go through Milan or Italy for Expo (and wife shopping)

Any advice would be valuable to me. Many thanks.

Regards,
William

The Swiss and Austrian ski resorts are not within 2 or 3 hours drive from Milan. If you fly to Zurich, then you can drive to St. Anton in under 3 hours.

Cervinia and Bormio are under 3 hours drive from Milan.

Wengen by train from Zurich Airport in 3 hours. Verbier by train from Zurich Airport in 4 hours.

Due to various reasons, my flight is now landing Paris and departing from Milan. I will spend the first week for ski. I just wonder where will be best ski resort for me/my group. I have no idea of European ski resort other than Three Valleys. Advice is very much appreciated. Here are some other info so you may want to take into consideration when giving advice:
1. 3 kids, 4 adults diversified with advance and beginners
2. prefer to take train, but OK to drive if needed
3. arriving Sat 4pm at Paris (difficult to take train same day to destination)
4. prefer to stay at ski-in/out chalet
5. prefer somewhere spend Euro

Any advice? Many Thanks.

Regards,
William

BTW, the header may be misleading. I dropped Swiss in my radar screen due to the CHF (i should have many other options)

Powder White (chalet management company) offers me a chalet in Meribel, ski-in/out, which is one of my option now. I have to take overnight train due to late arrival at Paris. If I take overnight train, then, there should be more option available for me to choose!?

Paris, Zermatt, Milan. Train, train, train, long way to go.

Or, round trip flight to Zurich, train, short bus, Ischgl. There is a duty free valley name's Samnaun. You could reach there via your skis in the ski resort. But I don't know if it's enough for your wife to enjoy.

Thanks for the advice. We decided to go back Three Valleys to save all the troubles of studying new resort and routing. We will stay at La Tania this time.

You may try 4 vallees next year. Fly into Geneva and take a private shuttle (there are plenty of them when you google) that goes door to door. Roughly 90 mins to Verbier and 2 hrs to Haute Nendaz or Siviez. Very nice resort.

Where to stay better at the 3 vallees?
