CX Flight to Zurich in CNY

Used to SB with kids (age 9 & 11,they can go on black run but not me) in Niseko/ Rusutsu, and have been to Whistler with them as well. Wanna try the Europe ski resorts in the coming trip but with zero experience and ideas

Can likely go for 8 days only. For the flight time, will arrive Zurich at 0630 and depart at 1150 on the 8th days.

Will St Anton a good one for us? Or any other recommendations?

Haven't been to St. Anton but heard from friends it is awesome. You can also consider Zermatt, 3 valles, 4 vallees, Chamonix and St, Moritz etc.. Based on my experience flying to Geneva (I know there's no direct flight from HK) make things and travelling a lot easier. You will be having a lot of fun spending a week in the Alps.

From Feb 6 to 13 is high season for Austria, I think it's same for other areas in Europe. You'd better book rooms right now, if you worry about the budget. Most hotels or Pensions or B&B booking with each 7 nights (It's make us crazy, :) ).

From Zurich Airport, you could take the train to St.Anton, about 3 hours, one change at Zurich HB (station inside the city).
Return way, stay at a hotel near Zurich Airport with free shuttle. Morning, get breakfast, shuttle, then check in.

This season, we will go Serfaus, Solden, and Ischgl.
Serfaus and Ischgl are more close to highway(train station name is Landeck), 30 mins bus connecting. And don't need other bus, not free, to go to the ski area included in your ski pass. At St. Anton, you need take a bus to Lech, € 2 or 5, don't know.

If you have time, I have a blog about skiing at St. Anton:

Thanks both.

And especially thanks for the useful blog.

You're true that probably the period I will go is a high season. I tried to search the one you stayed at St Anton, Pettneu, no rooms available at my period

Hey, where can we go??? It always a headache for the yearly ski trip plan

You could try this:
http://www.pettneuerhof.at/

Or, remember that check in at Sat, check out at Sat, more easy to find out a room.

The reason for this is because almost all ski packages have their transfer on Saturdays, ie. guests check-in on Saturday afternoon and check-out the following Saturday morning.

I have been to St Anton twice and enjoyed it both times. Your kids will love the big terrain of the resort and ability to explore.

I stayed at Nasserin both times and thought it was ok. Last time it was catered (by a 18 year old English student on her gap year... her cooking in general was ordinary )
