Wow....she skis very good.
I had a hard time skiing on Mogul in the past. Kind of very hard to balance Fore & Aft position.

Further to previous postings (#29, 31, 32, 62 ...) on CSIA fulfillment of ISIA/ISTD's requirements.

CSIA Level 3 will get you the ISIA stamp provided you have a couple very easy prerequisites such AST1 and a basic first aid cert.
However, CSIA have given no indication that they have any inclination to develop training programmes to satisfy ISIA requirements for the ISTD since the changes of a few years ago when Level 4 lost ISTD equivalence.
The minimum standard for the ISIA Card is outlined here:

Latest development on CSIA:
Rumours are that the Canadians have approached the ISIA to be granted card status. They have been inspected and are in the final stages of getting approval.

PSIA Rating

PSIA rating is a certification with an examination.

http://www.thesnowpros.org/BeaSkiorS...nstructor.aspx

It is only for ski instructors, not meant for rating students, and judges their ability to teach as well as their skill.

It is like when you hire the services of a professional and they have the appropriate license.

Your skier ability "rating" is sort of standardization, but is not a formal test.

So, how much do ski instructors get paid?

In USA, eg. Vail
Non-certified New Hire US$9.95 per hour
PSIA Level 1 certified $10.95
Level 2 certified $12.95
Level 3 certified $14.95
Trainers Accreditation* $20.20
E1 Examiner* $21.19 E2 Examiner* $22.46
E3 Examiner* $24.28
Current ISIA Demo Team Member $25.27
Current PSIA Demo Team Member $26.27

In Switzerland between US$20 to $40 an hour depending on qualification and ski school

In Whistler, CSIA L2 starter gets CAD$13.95 an hour - Mackay/Brian, is that correct?
The highest qualified instructor CSIA L4 CSCF L4 National Team Coach gets CAD$33.75 / hour.

People who are ski/snowboard instructor definitely do it for the lifestyle and passion.

If they like money or stability it's not for them.

France, Italy & Austria quit ISIA

France, Italy and Austria are leaving the ISIA (Internation Ski Instructors Association) at the end of 2015 due to different opinions on training and working as a ski instructor. They will now syndicated to the FEMPS and have informed the EU authorities of this change.

France (9300), Italy (11000) and Austria (5000) were by far the 3 biggest members of ISIA (47K).
Between them they contributed a whopping 54% of ISIA affiliated members - so it is a huge statement for them to withdraw from ISIA.
