Niseko Base Snowsports School

I am a newcomer to this forum, and glad to see many snowsport lovers here. First, Hi to everyone. When I planned my trip to Niseko next year, I came across NBS (Niseko Base Snowsports). It appears to be a pretty good school. I am wondering if you guys have had any experience with this school or attneded any traning programs like Powder projetc or Technical Week. Any experience sharing would be very appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks for your suggestion. But my personal experience tells me the opposite. The learning experience from skiing/learning from pros is invaluable.

It depends on your level of training you intend to get from NBS. I have had used different school in Niseko for my children over the years. This would be my comments on NBS:

1. Convenient location .
2. Reasonable price.
3. Group lesson could be a bit over crowded.
4. No magic carpet. If you are a beginner, that's important for you.

Hope this would help.
Happy skiing or snowboarding!

I have my eyes on more advanced programs such as powder project and technical week. Still thanks a lot, happy_mum, for the info you provided here. They are helpful.

From what I have heard powder project was more about charging pow and skiing hard and fast without much technical input.

technical week however focus a lot more on high performance technique. But rumour has it the person running the technical week has left the job (and he is very good) so don't know who will be taking that.

There are two other ski schools that I know,

1) Hirafu Base ski school
- cheaper but most instructors speak only Japanese

2) Go Snow at Hirafu Gondola
- slightly more expensive but offers English instruction

Better learn from ski instructor, then practice. you improve much quicker.
