So, how good do you need to be to take on Vallee Blanche?
Consensus seems to be that a competent red run skier should be able to manage the Vallee Blanche. As with most of these types of trips the conditions on the day may influence how easy or hard it is. It is not so much the skiing of the Vallee Blanche , it is more of the getting down the rope at the start which you would find the most daunting, if your not an experienced skiier seeing that for the first time may put you off.

Here is another good video : http://vimeo.com/34555644

It totally depends on weather condition to the greatest extent. The video is very misleading that the run is not difficult. I had been there a month ago and even the most experienced and well-equipped skiers did not dare to go out fm the entrance at the peak because it was so cold and windy there. Also, snowboarders will hv to consider as there are a quite long distance of flat terrain so yr skier buddy will hv to be very patient to wait for U!
