Demo skis

Hi,
I just bought my first pair of skis from ebay. when i looked at the package, it said demo skis. My question is any major difference between the retail and demo skis.

cheers

The skis are the same, except demo skis meant the skis are not brand new, they have been rented out as demo for skiers to try out. Also, demo skis have demo bindings which meant the bindings are on rails and can be adjusted to suit different boot sole length with ease, in terms of function and safety, no difference between normal ski bindings and demo bindings.

Demo skis has another meaning in Japan. Which means skis for demonstrators, which is also defined as 基礎ski . When I first come to Japan, I was quite confused in the ski shop as the "demo ski" are brand new. And the term 基礎ski is definitely not the same meaning as beginner ski. If you buy a "demo ski" as in Japanese definition, you may have a hard time with it if you are not that good.
