Where to install binding in HK?

I just bought a new pair of Salomon skis from Seoul but I forgot my ski boot size when I bought them. So the shop just installed the binding based on my ski boot length guess. Now I know it was incorrect. I need to re-mount the binding while keeping the ski/boot balance centered. I know it may not be overly complicated but I have never done it before. My binding is Salomon X16 lab. Also, I subsequently knew that glue should be applied to the screw holes before screws are tightened (for waterproof and lubrication), which the shop did not do.

Checked FNS and Play, they both charge around HKD400 and will take 2 weeks.

Any other recommendations for me pls? Much appreciated !

Mounting ski bindings is simple, re-mounting ski bindings can be complicated. Your bindings should have travel to allow for 1 size variance. I suggest you find a ski shop when you go skiing next time to remount the bindings for you.

You can refer to the following thread for reference :

Thanks Mike for your reply and suggestion. My next ski trip is to either Niseko or Dolomite (Italy). Will get a ski shop there to re-mount the binding for me. Actually, I suspect that my binding may not need a total re-mounting, as I told the shop that my boot sole length was 305cm where the actual length should be 318cm. Will a simple gliding of the toe and heel pieces along the rail be sufficient?

In regard to the glue needed for waterproof, do you think that the screws should be taken out to apply the glue, or just apply the glue on the screw tops, or leave them to do nothing pls? What kind of glue should be used?

Attached a photo of the binding for your reference.

The toe piece is fixed, you can slide the heel piece up and down to suit the sole length of your ski boots (if the binding is on rail, you can move both the toe and heel together). How much depends on the model of the bindings, move the heel unit back and see whether there is enough travel to suit your ski boots, you might be OK.

If you have to remount in a new position, then you have to plug the old holes, and leave a gap between the old and new holes in order to secure the fixing.

If your the bindings are already installed, unless you need a remount, I would not touch the screws. If you are going to remount, you just apply a very small amount of slow curing epoxy to the thread before you screw them in.

Here is the link for the Salomon Technical Manual, see whether it helps (page 23):

It should be a #3 Pozzi drive (which is different from a Philips screwdriver)

I have not been able to find Pozzi driver in HK, all the shops I went never seen one.

Use your Philips with care, try not to put too much force on it, don't let it slip and damage the screw.

I cannot see it clearly. Please refer to the pic in posting #8 above. A good quality Pozidriv usually costs over HK$100 in USA / UK.

PZ3 is the size. Hand held screwdriver has better control than electric one with "bits"
